This paper identifies the required BIM benefits in projects towards developing a framework for This paper identifies the required BIM benefits in projects towards developing a framework for assessing the success of BIM adoption in projects.
A systematic review of peer-reviewed papers published between to was conducted to provide data for the study. The selection of the papers was done in such a way that only the papers that are relevant to the objective of the study were selected. The framework was conceptualized by categorizing the benefits of BIM adoption, identifying the BIM maturity levels, while considering the principles of benefits break down hierarchy. The number of category levels was based on the number of BIM maturity levels.
The framework describes a hierarchical structure for BIM benefits realization and management. Researchers and practitioners might find the framework used in the development of BIM benefits realization plan and in resolving the difficulties in measuring BIM adoption performance. It is expected that this paper will stimulate further research in the areas of BIM performance and benefits management.
Scientometric research of Scheduling in Project Management. Schedule is one of the main concerns in project management, and thus, several tools have being developed to aid on the planning and correct following of it. With many different approaches, they all intend to assist in the conduction of With many different approaches, they all intend to assist in the conduction of projects from the timing point of view, and it is up to the institution or the project team to choose the one that best applies to their needs.
The growing availability of the personal computer facilitated the emergence of the computerized techniques that are widely used now a days. The present study aims to identify the research fronts, the emergent trends, the main authors and the marking studies in this knowledge field, using a scientometric approach. To do so, we searched the Web of Science database using the keywords: timeline, schedule, project management and schedule management and its variants.
All the retrieved articles were analyzed based on title, abstract, keywords and references, using R and CiteSpace. The data was divided into three datasets: Pdata 89 articles from the topic search, from through , Pdata articles from the topic search, from through and Xdata articles from the expanded dataset.
We assessed the most productive authors and countries, the number of citations received per article, the keyword clusters and the keyword bursts, in order to create a knowledge domain visualization KDV. The results showed that the most productive authors within the Pdata 89 period were Patterson, Davis and Willis, and within the entire Pdata period was Vanhoucke. During the second part of the Pdata, however, China arose as an academicly productive country, almost catching up with the USA.
From the 20 top cited documents in the Pdata, 11 documents come from the Pdata 89 period. During the 80's and 90's, the most prominent author was Patterson, and for the following decades, his prominence seems to be weakening and moving to other authors, such as Hartman. The domains of the articles citing the Pdata focused on mathematics, systems and mathematical, and of the articles cited by the Pdata focused on systems, computing and computer.
The most representative Web of Science category on the Pdata was operations research. The Xdata suggests that the emerging subjects are construction projects and China.
In the analysis of the Xdata, the term Resource-constrained project scheduling seems to be used as a substitute for schedule, but limiting the search to this term might restrict the findings on schedule as a general. Finally, we can see an environment where new milestones articles emerge for the research in schedule in Project Management. Computing grids must deliver non-trivial qualities of service, in terms of response time, security, reliability, and coordination of various grid regrid computingsources.
Grid meta-schedulers play a crucial role into the execution of Grid meta-schedulers play a crucial role into the execution of applications, because they match grid application jobs with available grid resources. However, a typical grid application is not an isolated single grid job, but a composition of multiple grid jobs. Existing grid schedulers provide match making algorithms tailored only for independent grid jobs, with limited support for complex workflow submission and management.
It supports dynamic grid resource and job simulation, and provides a submission interface for workflow grid applications as a single unit, rather than as a set of grid jobs. The proposed simulator simplifies complex grid workflow applications scheduling, by implementing two-staged metascheduler architecture. It also allows the study of performance evaluation in a repeatable and controlled manner.
The results were then used to develop a combined performance score using the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution TOPSIS to assist decisions pertaining to the selection of the best material based on the performance score. To present another decision criteria to compare and select a roof material, the study utilized the contingent valuation method CVM to estimate the environmental cost associated with these alternative materials.
The simulation results showed that clay tile had a better environmental performance score of 0. Merging environmental and economic considerations to a common score as presented in this study will help improve and contribute to the quality of decision making in that it provides a substantial basis to select the most suitable, cost-effective roofing material.
