The procession of the parts and the weapon that can be converted is worth a few years in Club Fed. Because of the unique nature of the M1 and the M2, and the ease in which they can be converted, the conversion parts them self "IS" the machine gun or the forbidden fruit.

A class 2 manufacturer can legally convert an M1 carbine into an M2 carbine but it could only be sold to the military or law enforcement agencies and that isn't likely to occur as the M2 is considered obsolete by today's standards. I am confused. I have seen several posts from people who have bought a "kit" and converted an M1 Carbine to a full auto M2 Carbine.
